2012 Kirtland’s Warbler Young Artist Calendar Contest
Rules and Information
- Entries must be original and deal with northern Michigan’s unique jack pine forest ecosystem, the Kirtland’s warbler or any other creatures that dwell in the jack pine forest.
- Copyrighted cartoon characters, such as Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl, cannot appear in entries.
Example of a landscape/horizontal orientation.Entries must be horizontally (landscape orientation) drawn on a single 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of white paper or poster board. - Entries that are not horizontal will not be judged in the contest.
- Clearly record (please print) ALL student information on the form provided below and TAPE TO THE BACK SIDE (please no staples) of each drawing.
- Entries should be from individual students in grades K-8. No group drawings are allowed. Only one entry per student. More than one entry from a class or school may be mailed in the same envelope.
- Contest deadline is 4:30 PM on Friday, April 20, 2012. Entries may be delivered in person or mailed.
- A community panel of judges will review each entry. Winners will be notified before the end of the 2011-2012 school year.
- Entries become the property of the US Forest Service and will not be returned.
- The winning drawings will be used in the next edition of the Kirtland’s Warbler Young Artists calendar. Student names, teachers and schools will be identified on the calendar. Entries may also be used for other products or promotional materials.
