Butterflies and Ranger Steve

ROSCOMMON - An active presenter who often works with the C.O.O.R. Intermediate School District, Ranger Steve Mueller has been focusing much of his energy lately on studying butterflies – specifically the Karner Blue Butterfly and Northern Blue Butterfly.

His interest in butterflies stems from the fact that, like the Kirtland’s warbler, there are many species of them in the area that cannot be found anywhere else.

Mueller gives his presentations through the C.O.O.R. and the Howard Christianson Nature Center. He is also a member of the Michigan Butterfly Association and provides the organization with interesting specimens from his own collection.

For more information on getting involved in the Michigan Butterfly Association, contact Mueller at odybrook@chartermi.net.
