Presentation:
The Role of Research in the Recovery of the Kirtland's Warbler
Dr. Carol Bocetti has been studying the Kirtland's warbler and been involved in its management for more than 20 years. This presentation features neat facts she and her research colleagues have learned about the biology of this endangered warbler, and how this knowledge has been used in its successful recovery. You will become much more familiar with this unique bird and its special jack pine habitat by attending this program.

Carol Bocetti knows a lot about the Kirtland's warbler. She has been involved with scientific research on the biology and habitat of the warbler for more than 20 years. In the early 1990s, Carol studied the KW as part of her master's and Ph.D. studies at Ohio State University, and from 1994 to 2004 she continued these studies as a research scientist with the U.S. Department of Interior’s Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in Maryland. She has led the Kirtland's Warbler Research Committee since 1993 and was just appointed to the prestigious position of leader of the Kirtland's Warbler Recovery Team. Dr. Bocetti works as assistant professor of biology at the California University of Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania. She and her husband and two children live in Hickory, Pa.
