Presentation:  "This-N-That Bio-Chat" -
Back by popular demand, Al Batt, a Minnesota naturalist and author, is this year's featured presenter. Al will use his quick wit, renowned storytelling skills and wonderful photographs to entertain you with bird lore and wildlife trivia – maybe even a few truths – while explaining how birds and birding has lowered his cholesterol, reduced excess fat and his mortgage.

Program Presented by: Al Batt

Al Batt is a writer, speaker, storyteller and humorist. He was born and raised on a farm near the village of Hartland in southern Minnesota. He still lives in Hartland, now in his “Batt Cave” with wife Gail (a.k.a. “The Queen B”) and their dog, Towhee, a Belgian airhead. Al is a devout nature nut, famous for his “from-the-heart” storytelling - which is (usually) a blend of his quick wit and love and knowledge of nature. He puts these skills to good use in his weekly programs on many local radio and TV stations. He has been a speaker at outdoor festivals and conventions all over the United States. Al is also a prolific writer. He contributes a weekly humor and nature column to several Minnesota newspapers and has written many articles for nature and birding magazines, as well as farm periodicals. Wild Bird Magazine has named him Birder of the Year. He also is the creator and writer of a popular, nationally syndicated cartoon strip.
