"The Kirtland's Warbler Winter Research and Training Project"

Presentation:  "The Kirtland's Warbler Winter Research and Training Project" - Much is known about the summer ecology of the Kirtland's warbler and how best to maintain its special habitat – and its survival – here in northern Michigan. Very little, however, has been known about its habitat and life requirements on its wintering grounds in the Bahamas.

But a unique research and training project was started on Eleuthera Island, Bahamas, in 2002 to help change that. The project’s goals are to first identify which habitats and factors are crucial to the Kirtland’s winter survival, and secondly, to build public and governmental support for the conservation of the Kirtland's warbler and its habitat in the Bahamas.

This program describes this exciting project, plus new biological information learned about our special warbler.
